In una scena del crimine... (At a crime scene...)

 

Tratto dal mio primo libro "Non voglio morire", capitolo 1 "L'ingresso ai quartieri alti":

"[...], ma in fondo, soggiunse Sofia dentro di sé, non c’era niente di nuovo sotto questo cielo, perché era quello che caratterizzava gran parte dell’esistenza umana. Quante volte ci siamo sentiti dire: “Perché ti lamenti? In fondo, cosa ti manca? Hai tutto: intelligenza, soldi, bellezza…”  Ma quel “nulla” gridato dal paziente in preda alla sofferenza, ebbene sì, è l’equivalente del “voglio farla finita”.

L’investigazione terapeutica, continuò a riflettere Sofia, era preposta a rimuovere quell’ostinazione, a spiegarla e a comprenderla, perché solo la vera presa di co-scienza del significato di quel dolore occulto, provocato da alcune esperienze che spesso hanno ramificazioni nel re-moto passato, potrebbe aiutare il paziente ad applicare il tanto auspicato libero arbitrio per fare vere e proprie scelte consapevoli..."

"[...], but deep down," Sofia added to herself, "there was nothing new under this sky, because it was what characterized much of human existence. How many times have we heard: 'Why are you complaining? After all, what do you lack? You have everything: intelligence, money, beauty..." But that "nothing" cried out by the patient in the throes of suffering—yes, it's the equivalent of "I want to end it all." 

 

Therapeutic investigation, Sofia continued to reflect, was intended to remove that obstinacy, to explain it and understand it, because only a true awareness of the meaning of that hidden pain, caused by certain experiences that often have ramifications in the distant past, could help the patient apply the much-desired free will to make truly conscious choices..."
